Matsumoto said that in developing the game for next-gen consoles such as the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, they had to redesigned the characters with new animations.
These improvements give off a certain atmosphere to the game players. Being a battlefield game, if players want to scope out a big area of the field, they'd have to climb ladders or cliffs and look. The game has a wide sense of vertical and horizontal views.
As for the criticisms being received by the game, Matsumoto said the much of the games out there are "criticized on what they're not rather than what they are." He also added that some of the reviews don't even "mention any of the new things" found in the latest sequel and that "when you get into an iterative series, subtlety is where the value lies."
Hopefully, Matsumoto's words could affect how western critics or even gamers view this game franchise especially now that the game is being released on February 19, 2008.
